Tips for Federal Grant Applications

  • Follow "Organization Applicant Registration" on Grants.gov.

  • Obtain a DUNS Number for your organization (takes 1-2 business days)

  • Establish an active SAM.gov account (takes 7-10 business days; has to be updated every year)

  • Obtain a TIN/EIN (can take up to 2 weeks)

  • Create your Grants.gov profile and register your AOR authorization (can take up to 2 weeks)

  • HUD Form 50153 is used only for federal grants that partner with Promise Zone
