3rd Annual Local Partner Celebration

The Sacramento Promise Zone would like to express our sincere gratitude to the 120+ Promise Zone partners who attended our 3rd Annual Local Partner Celebration. We greatly appreciate and cherish all partners that have supported us since the start of the Promise Zone on April 2015. Without the collaboration and work of our partners, we would never have reached this milestone.

50+ organizations were represented at the Celebration. Attendees networked and learned about the great work of other Promise Zone partners.

Chris Strachan - Kick'n It For a Cause, Founder; Phil Serna - County of Sacramento, District 1 Supervisor; Saweetie - music artist; and Darrell Steinberg - City of Sacramento, Mayor

Mayor Steinberg and Supervisor Serna spoke about the Promise Zone's impact on the city and the county while Kick’n It for a Cause and upcoming music artist Saweetie announced a partnership with the Promise Zone to provide 20 scholarships for Sacramento City Unified School District’s (SCUSD) Women’s Leadership Academy students.

Jimmy Stracner- U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Region IX Administrator

Promise Zone partners can take advantage of the Zone's relationship with federal agencies to apply for grants, technical assistance, and other federal support.

The Sacramento Promise Zone is proud to showcase the outstanding work and impact of our many partners. One major way we support partners is by collecting data, pictures, and stories to tell the tale of their amazing work in the community. For example, Walk Sacramento shared that:

  • More than $15,000 has been gained for the active transportation in undeserved communities.

  • Their Safe Routes to School was supported in over 100 local schools across 7 counties.

  • Over 2500 students and parents walked or biked to school on Walk to School Day across 4 schools in SCUSD last year.

By collaborating with Promise Zone, your organization can make better strategic decisions, leverage greater resources, and change more lives. To deepen your partnership today:
