Meet the Sacramento Promise Zones Jobs and Economic Development Coordinator Thomas C. Gibbs III.
Mr. Gibbs is CEO of Gibbs Development & Construction Corporation, Co-owner of the Fresh Lines Barbershop franchise, Vice-Chairman of his family’s construction company Precision Contractors EBMC, Fund Manager for Great Plains Opportunity Fund, and the current Jobs & Economic Development Coordinator for the Sacramento Promise Zone. Utilizing his experience as a small business owner and board chairman, Thomas focuses his energy, expertise and volunteer efforts on the acceleration of job growth and economic development within the Promise Zone. Mr. Gibbs employs his ability to create and build effective partnerships to grow new jobs while increasing employment retention in Sacramento.
Thomas is a Morehouse College alumnus where he graduated at the top of his class with a B.A. in African American Studies and a concentration in Sociology. A certified Ralph Bunche Institute graduate research scholar from the University of California, Los Angeles; Thomas also studied Contract Law and developed a passion for forging business partnerships while attending Pennsylvania State University’s Dickinson School of Law. Thomas is a Greater Sacramento Economic Council (GSEC) Certified Champion, a Certified Graduate of the Southwest Regions Department of Transportation's Sacramento Business Development Program, and a nominated speaker for the 2019 class of the Sacramento Planning Academy.
